Q: You buying? New iPhone 5S/5C, iWatch.

Does anybody plan to buy the iPhone 5s or 5c? Why or why not?

What will you do with your old one?

Does anyone want to buy the iWatch as well?

Used iPhone 4 sells for as little as $100 at home now. I use the phone, translator, map and sometimes I text. I know the phones will do more and get faster but really what do I need a better phone for. I use a camera, mp3 player and a computer which are still better and easier to use for their purposes. I'm waiting for the iShaver, shave and multi-task at the same time. Or the iTooth Brush.

I'm waiting for the Nokia 1020 only for the purpose of the camera, but not because of the 41mp, because of how clear the pictures come out. Just saw my mates, it was amazing. I'm not into WP8 but I always carry two phones, one for 3G and calls, and one for pure internet use with China Unicom 3G 10GB for 300RMB a month.

I like the OS on iPhone, but I love the large screen HD AMOLED, S pen, and a lot of other things about my SS Galaxy Note II.

I still prefer the iPad to Samsung tablet though.

I am trading in my 4S for a Samsung Note...I am tired of the small screen and IOS...I hate Itunes and miss the Android platform....at least it's seamless to transfer media between devices unlike the Iphone.

But I will keep my IPad 4....love it.

No, I won't buy them. Maybe when they catch up with Samsung. Maybe if they were even trying to catch up. Oh, and my phone must have a microSD and animated wallpaper and  ... ok I better stop now. Wait one more thing: the maps flat out suck. I love to navigate with my friend's iPhone - entire streets missing. It's LOL funny.

iOS 7 appears to be cosmetic. From what I've read that's the only difference. However, they will sell at least 40 million of the 5S. At least. Still, I love the new 5S because it will likely drive down the price of the 4S. I'm still not sure I'll buy a 4S, but cheaper is good.

Why buy a 5C when you can buy a 4 or 4S? Doesn't make sense to me. But I am not a customer. Does the 'C' stand for China?

I don't have an old iPhone, but I will keep my Motorolas and my Galaxy, thank you.

an iWatch? TBH, you don't need the latest things to be cool. Let the chasers buy it. Way back when (haha "old man" lecture WARNING!) you bought a cell phone because it was useful, helped you run your business, helped you make money. What will you do with an iWatch? That's right, play stupid computer games. They are toys for kids, that's all, and Apple knows it.

ironman510:

Funny story or idea for the watch, we get fined at our school about 400RMB for any cell phone sighting. So the upcoming iWatch and Samsung watch will be useful in companies like this. If these watches have WeChat, if not, f**k it, won't buy it.

A: No, it's not allowed to work under RP at 2nd job! I'd say, Z visa
A:No, it's not allowed to work under RP at 2nd job! I'd say, Z visa/RP sponsor can have an objections to your part-time job. I did the same at my English teaching in China and elsewhere, butT ... I casually mentioned at my prime job, some kindergarten or another school asked me to work with them part-time. Then, my Q: "Is that permitted?" ...  Answer from RP sponsor was always "Yes, but you can't be late or miss the classes at our school ..." with my reply: "No, our work schedule has a priority, and I'll arrange classes at kindergarten only in my free time." When I cleared that, I was undertaking any extra teaching hours at other schools and private students in my free time.Sometimes, teachers at my prime job asked me if I'm willing to have some extra classes elsewhere.I accepted after the talk with School's principal. I suggest, you test the felling at your Z/RP sponsor and once you see they don't object, you can work at 2nd job. Keeping your 2nd job as a secret from your employer won't work, 'cause you're laowai and Chinese know exactly what you do in your free time. However, despite your employer's agreement for extra work, you are still in violation of Chinese Labour law, and even if your sponsor agrees to your extra work, you can still get in trouble, because it's clearly written (somewhere ... ) that under Z/WP, one can work only at the Z-sponsor and nowhere else. Penalties ... I'd say, there won't be any warnings and you'll be required to exit China in short Exit time.It never happened to me, so I can't really advice how is when manure hits the fan ...  -- icnif77
