Q: Z visa without 2 years of working exp?

Hi,
Is it possible for me to enter China with an F visa then change it to Z once I'm there? I heard some agencies have shut down their Z visa services recently. If not, what is my best option here to stay/work in China for the long term?

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

indecisionI've seen it happen before. Heck I remember seeing a kid that had no college edu at all get one. ANd the only work experience he had was working at a chinese restaurant back in the states. So I would say yes. If there are means there are ways!

What you mean is get a Residence Permit on an "F" visa. In certain parts of China, this used to possible by organizations with the right "guanxi". I have met people in Shenzhen for instance that arrived on an "L" and convert to RP. I think the chances of such a thing are now remote because of tightening the immigration laws. So I guess you will have to follow the officially recognized route and get a "Z" visa in your own country (or suitable alternative consulate) for conversion to RP.

What kind of a job is this? If it's teaching English, a TEFL certificate can be used instead of  proving that you have relevant working experience.

Do you have a Bachelor's Degree? How old are you?

Have it processed in your home country, there is no more changing as of now. Most employers will want to see how you teach first, then hire you, I would try well established training schools that would go ahead and process your work visa information.

Hi, I'm the OP. I'm 25, and yes, I will get my bachelor degree next month hopefully. and I do have a TESOL certificate, but the job is not teaching related.

So I should arrive on an F visa, then extend it in China through some agencies, and make visa runs every 30 or 60 days? Is that my best option if I understood correctly?

I can't help you. Have you found a job?

You shouldn't work in China without a Z visa, because employers might exploit you. You also might get deported/ end up in jail.

Curious, what job is it, if you are not actually working than no problem, if you are accepting RMB for services that include you working, than yes, if you are coming for a company in your home country than a Fvisa is fine, need to be a bit more forthcoming if you want our help

If you are going to work, get a Z visa before you leave your home country. Forget all the stories about what people used to do. It won't work any more, since July 1st.

Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to not be forthcoming. It's a sales job so I would actually be working. So legally, I think I need a Z visa..pratically, I can't leave the country every 60 days while working on an F visa..most legit companies won't hire me on an F visa as well...

I know some ESL schools offer Z visa packages to their teachers without exp..well, I do have a tesol, not sure it helps, or how I should go about in my situation.

I guess the good news is that I blend in with the locals and chances of me getting caught is little lower? haha..I don't know..it's a really sticky situation...sucks
