Q: Can you get Kava Kava in China?

Kava (PIPER METHYSTICUM) is a Fijian herb that can be prepared as a drink. It provides a relaxing sensation and is sometimes used as an alternative to alcohol, as it is much healthier for you. I understand that it is used in traditional Chinese medicine and is referred to as Ka Wa Hu Jiao卡瓦胡椒. I'm wondering how readily available Kava is in China and if anyone has tried it and can speak to its quality.. With the dangers of fake alcohol in China, Kava seems like a much better option.

Thanks

I've never heard of anyone drinking this but I suggest you go to a traditional Chinese pharmacy like Tongrentang and ask there.
