Q: "Free trip to …. but we film you for a promotional video" vacations?

An email I was sent last week by one of those Chinese ticketing sites was advertising several of these "special deals". While I'm tempted to take them up on a "free trip to Chengdu" or wahtever, I have some hesitation about the whole "filming" thing. Has anyone here ever done these trips? Is the free trip worth it or does the constant filming/advertisement ruin the experience?

no idea about it but you can just ignore the filming, just grab the deal and who knows you might be the next red super star

Sounds too good to be true. Well if they are only inviting you make sure other people know where you are. If you are doing this with a group who knows if they will cancel it or not. They probably won't though. I had one of these things nearly a decade ago but it wasn't here. I actually got an email to be an extra in a movie. They needed a large group to fill up the Super Dome because they were filming Friday Night Lights there. I agreed but since it was a group thing some people backed out and they pulled our group from the film.
