Q: How does Shenzhen compare to Beijing and Shanghai as a good place to live?

Shenzhen has no Winters (okay, but hot humid Summers), nice beaches, good shopping, a cheap, modern and efficient transportation system, affordable housing, one of the youngest and educated  population base in China, an abundant variety of restaurants, a booming local economy and is 45 minutes away from Central Hong Kong. Oh, and beautiful young Chinese girls from many provinces who now live there . Why is Shenzhen not highly considered as a desirable city to live?

I think it's because it's still such a young city, certainly in comparison to the other two. I lived in Shenzhen, but i've only visited Beijing and Shanghai. I would certainly choose to live in either one of those than live in Shenzhen again. I just found it a little devoid of character. Like a big, squeaky clean, Lego-land.
