Q: How much was your Hong Bao haul this year China foreign teachers?

In Beijing I received three times more than Weihai.  My best Spring Festival in China was Beijing in 2013 when I received over 12,000 and I used half of it for a huge graduation party and going away party at the Beijing Aquarium for my students.

the new policy with corruption crackdown is not to receive any envelopes from students and foreigners usually get nothing because our grades can be changed and we are in the school strictly for entertainment and face bragging rights anyway, if you got anything, silence is golden, this corruption crackdown is not a 2 year blitz and over, its going to be a regular government oversight with a bite.

We know which accounts are the CFTU guy. We should know which account is OldMajor/ Snowballs.

Whenever we see a post by the CFTU guy we should remind people not to click on their links.

If the majority of people don't click on the links then "he" will just do it himself...  Let's remember this guy likes carrying conversations with himself.  Best thing would be for lazy admin to nuke him on sight, which I guess won't ever happen.

I didn't get anything. I've been here three years and I only ever drew my monthly salary.

You probably shouldn't accept money given to you in a red envelope. It's a bit archaic...

I get nothing from work. N/A company and all. I wasnt expecting anything as im married now and we are expected to give, so we did. But as the oldest of the generation and the first married, every other sibling or cousin got to recieve. They took pity on us I guess and all still gave hongbao to us anyways. So we gave and we got. Pretty nice
Couple thousand i guess.

the FIL is being antisocial extraordinaire, so we didn't give or get get anything from most family this year. didn't even see them. but we got more than we gave from MIL's family. it's like our sons' first salary.

from teaching: nothing. my school says it has a strict no-bribe policy, but i guess i wouldn't know if chinese teachers were collecting under the table.

A:Good question!  I'd say, if you study at Uni in China beside working full-time as an E.T. with Residence permit, you don't interfere with your full-time employment. It's your free time and you can do anything you want, with respect to the Chinese laws and customs. Have a look at terms of Z visa/Residence permit and ... ".. you cannot work (and earn monies!) with another employer ..."That's all it is! Your RP sponsor title is written on the RP stamp in your passport, I think. It's in Mandarin, so I've heard about that from someone ...At I.D.-ing by cops, they know where you work and than more details about you are just a phone call away ... and it happened in person ... LOL ... during the day-time stroll through Wulumuqi, Xinjiang, 2012/13 semester. Now under RP, you're free to surf Internet, jog, ... and study, too. I suggest, you look and ask at the Uni, you plan to study in the future. Have a detailed look at requirements for studying and attending chosen Uni.Good luck! -- icnif77
