The holidays are around the corner, and I'm getting homesick.
The security of being able to drive without the expectation your life could be snuffed out at any moment.
I effing hate Chinese drivers. The combination of stupidity and arseholery makes them time bombs.
So, to that end, I also miss coppers who do, are compelled to do, their jobs.
Chinese coppers are as useless as tits on a bull.
Being able to get all of my housework / errands done in one Sunday afternoon.
Life outside China!
Being able to sleep without being disturbed in the early hours by power drills, car horns, fireworks and ayi dance music outside my window.
Breakfast cereals and cheese on toast.
Edible bread.
Folk holding the door open to let others pass through.
And being able to surf the internet without waiting endlessly for each page to open.
Big boobies
RandomGuy:
Meh, there are some here too, I know that girl who's half Russian, her bewbs are bigger than my head, from experience I would say DD US bra size. Maybe one in ten millions.
Lord_hanson:
Yeh, half Russian. Not too many Chinese have decent breasts though. Even the fatties seem to be flat chested sometimes.
going to an out door Rock Concert,New Zealand radio stations.2nd hand record shops.
royceH:
You can't find NZ radio stations? I'm listening to Australian radio right now.

Most radio stations have a website that lets you listen online now. Just google your favorite station and you're good to go.
That friends can have sex without marriage requests the next day.
My friends. My family. Decent internet. And of course the food. Don't get me wrong, chavs are the worst and that's something in China's favour. You don't really get that youth mob/gang mentality here.
Also get your act together Chinese Starbucks. I want to try a pumpkin spice latte. I miss all the pop culture things we miss out on here.
RandomGuy:
Pop culture not needed when you have glorious 5000 years Chinese culture and something about TCM.

My old Land Rover and the ability to drive for an hour and find a quiet place with NO people, make a big fire with decent wood and barbecue a proper aged steak or lamb chops that doesn't cost a fortune, while drinking decent red wine.
rasklnik:
Actually I've found place in China you could do that...well sort of.
1) Plenty of open space in Inner Mongolia
2) You can buy a whole lamb! Let alone the chops
3) Red Wine is over priced. I admit.
Sweets, somehow the sweets here are not sweet enough. and yeah a decent Cheese cake!
Clean uncrowded public beaches and reasonably priced fresh seafood
This might sound a bit loser, but bar culture. I enjoy being able to go grab a pint or two with a friend, watch a sporting event, and engage in (mostly) good conversation-all in a smoke-free environment. I enjoy sport, and living here is terrible for a couple reasons: 1) locals don't have much interest in sport. 2) The time difference is just brutal for non-Aussies and Kiwis.
