Are you talking about uni jobs? Could it be the time of year? When would you usually expect to see those jobs advertised?

Training center type jobs come up all the time because contracts aren't usually tied to semesters beginning and ending. Uni jobs are usually based around semesters.

In Shenzhen I still all the jobs pop up from all areas, it depends where you look, on Daves ESL is the place you'll see a lot.

For the schools we don't see posted means that they are a wonderful and great school to work for and most teachers don't leave, so we see the crap left over jobs online mostly.

I know a lot of great schools & training centers that never pop up online with ads because they are that good and friends do the recruiting for the HR due to a go reputation.

Also a lot of the schools we don't see online are because Agents have been hired by them and act on their behalf and find teachers, but we don't actually know who or what company we're being sent too until we actually get an interview there.

There are others reasons like in 2014 many cities & gov's gave so many low end companies permission and the license to hire us to avoid F/L/M visa teachers, thus actually hiring workers that could get a working permit. This why you see a lot of companies state they can give us a Z visa now. They relax the license policy a bit.

Tha's about it.  Agents & Good schools to me are the main reason we don't see the market online like we use to.

As for this theory being apart of the new A~B~C talent visa policy? No I don't think its related, I think we'll see an increase in jobs for about 2 years, a lot of foreigners are leaving China and some by choice and some not by choice.

I noticed this too even for Chinese english teachers roles. Most of them are for k12 and low payment, like 4k. It's probably due to the time of the year.

I have noticed a trend for both HS and Kindergartens, especially in Beijing. The wage thing has gone out of whack too. Companies are offering as high as 25,000 rmb per month knowing they will never deliver, and as low as 6,000 for a full 40 hour work week. I don't think it is just that time of year. I noticed this last fall. As for the new system; given the time and costs to do the authentication process, you would think the Universities and colleges would be advertising last month. I also think a lot of FTs will try to stay at the same school to avoid paperwork, but the schools will also try to keep the good ones to avoid additional paperwork and costs. In some ways this is is a good thing because it will weed out the lousy FTs.  Another thought: why on earth do you need a degree to teach kindergarten. Or even ESL to elementary and HS students? I can understand the degree requirement for Subject specific courses at the HS level. Another big laugh is how the schools and recruiters are expecting people with Masters and Doctoral (PhD) degrees to apply for an ESL job. especially at 8,000 Rmb per month

I have been with my teaching company/school for three years now. They gave significant increases in salary to all FT teachers. We all resigned new contracts, with no deviation of our new contracts. Before resigning, I noticed an increase in salaries of the jobs being advertised. Not all jobs of course. I figured that it was due to the lack of FT willing to come to China to teach.
