Did he make it to China? Anyone know if he is making out ok?
10 years 13 weeks ago in Teaching & Learning - Beijing
He is probably crying into his pillow between searching for his return ticket and the endless trips to the toilet
i think he said he took offer in zibo, psb opens tomorrow the 7 th here for new visas have to renew mine tomorrow in jinan, maybe the promised housing does not have internet and nobody during holiday will turn it on. im sure he will have an interesting arrival story after he calms down from the perception/reality paradigm in a few days.

I was thinking that he arrived at the perfect time to enjoy Spring Festival but your reply reminded me of the new apartment/no internet thing. But I usually managed to find a wife connection somewhere, although maybe echinacities would not be a priority I guess.

yep i changed my job too. my apartment will be available until then i have to stay in a hotel. at least its a 5 star hotel but the food is super expensive o.o
250+ for 1 meal

@DB: "Wife connection" is that a kind of entertainment to take your mind off not having proper internet connection ?
WanderingTeacher:
My internet did not work for 4 days..it was suppose to be on...but there was something wrong with it..and the guy was in another city..he finally came after I yelled at him about me spending 500rmb of my own money to access the interent through my chinese phone (yea yea, stupid I know) and finally it was back working, but then kept going in and out every hour and then for a whole day..he kept coming back to fix it, and it didn't work..so i just kept drinking and finally today it's working and I have not had any issues,..I was thinking about you guys the whole time and how I was going to write a looooonnng rant about it..but alas..Tsingtao beer just makes everything better...
ambivalentmace:
damn, i nailed the internet prediction pretty good, maybe my next job will be a fortune teller on the sidewalk here with my rocks and charts.
DBowman:
@ Scandinavian - damn spellcheck!! But maybe I'll try a wife connection next time.
best guess would be he is still wandering.
look forward to the follow up.
He landed a few days ago. He is zibo now meeting his students and boss. I talked with him on wechat the other day. He seems to be enjoying himself. His only complaint was his wifi and cell service.
I'm ALIVE!! Yeah the Wifi/Cell fiasco was frustrating and stupid..but everything is good, thanks for asking
Check out my most recent question (How was our first week in China?) for a brief overview of my first week!

Welcome to China. A number of people and I were wondering how you were doing. I see this has a positive gesture in this site to check in with new arrivals and try to lend our support. I'm looking forward to hearing about your experiences here in future posts.
WanderingTeacher:
As do I CBrian..it's nice to know you have a community, virtual or not, that you can lean on and that cares about you in some way :)
Any bars in Zibo? I mean real ones, not Chinese ones. I doubt it.
How do you like the food?
