Q: What's the best way to take cash home?

I'm taking 10,000rmb in cash home for Christmas. Should I see about converting to USD at a bank in China or doing it in an airport? Which one has less fees? Thanks.

Converting Rmb to US$ (without too many fees) is better through your Bank account, than exchange it at the Airport.

China Merchants Bank exchange my Rmb on 'daily spot rate', or lowest exchange rate possible.

Send it home by wire transfer.  That's the safest.
