Maybe it's just me, but I haven't noticed women in China wearing much in terms of earings, necklaces and all that, beyond the usual jade thing.
Is it considered too flashy or arrogant to wear silver and gold?
Get out of the cities and into the provinces girl... many Chinese minorities (I couldn't tell you which ones however) adorn themselves with heavy silver necklaces, bangles and earrings. I think it's the Miao ethnic group in Guangxi who love their silver. Similarly I've seen a lot of gold jewellery being worn in Anhui province.
Chinese women in cities tend to keep jewellery to a minimum. In essence, less is more.
But you can still see some of the older generation wearing gold rings and earrings, a bit like gypsies in European countries. I mean, who else wears gold these days? It's SOOO 80s!
this lady has to take her picture down cmon mutt face
I sent a $200 gold braclet to my girl friend for her birthday by mail, she never got it, someone is wearing it. Can you watch out for it for me?
I think I love you Ady !
Ludovico's right...
Women stay away from the jewelry here, but have no shame dressing in the most outrageous outfits. Shoes are crazy, bags are crazy...and, last but not least, huge circular sunglasses that make their heads look like bug heads.
